NYC...Day 2

Today, I got bit by a horse.....more on that later.

We began the day with breakfast in the hotel and then headed to the train station.  We rode the train to Grand Central Station.  Ryan was in charge of the camera and he snapped this picture of this odd building by our hotel.

After getting off the train we headed to St. Patrick's Cathedral where we took some great pictures outside.  There was a mass going on inside so we didn't go in very far to take pictures inside.  All of the inside pictures included some other tourist as well because it was a small area that we were in.

This statue was across the street from the Cathedral. After we were at the Cathedral we headed to Rockefeller Center.  There were many people skating on the ice.  The Lego store was in Rockefeller Center so we went in there and saw some cool Lego creations, including a Harry Potter Quidditch Match. :)

After Rockefeller Center we started to wander and stopped at Au Bon Pain for lunch.  It was a cute little sandwich shop & bakery.

From here we started walking again and realizing we were pretty close to Central Park we decided to head over there.  There were tons of people who had bike carriages offering tours through the park, but we decided to take the horse carriage through the park instead.

Our driver pointed out various movie sights as well as some new Trump Towers.  They have 18 playgrounds in the park along with a carousel and the zoo.

After we ended our ride, the driver took our picture with the horse, Jasper...that's when he bit me, on the arm.  I was covered in horse saliva and my arm was throbbing.  The driver even caught the bit on camera!

You can't see it real well but there is definitely a bruised outline of where his teeth were and then it's all red in the middle.  This morning I was expecting it to be even more bruised, but it is not.  It is still swollen though, and sensitive to the touch.

After our ride through the park, we decided to go ahead and walk through on our own.  I had  never really wandered into & through the park, so it was fun.  We took lots of pictures...here's a few of them.

After quite a while in Central Park we started making our way out of the park.  I had to use the restroom and we needed to get to the train station to go meet my family for dinner in Queens.  We headed to find a Starbucks so I could use the restroom.  On the way Ryan found the Statue of Liberty....

Then it was on the train to head to Queens.  We met Ann-Marie, Anthony, and Aunt Melinda at Mi Tio for a fabulous dinner.  Uncle John came in time for dessert, which we had at Carvel's.  Here's some pics of the family...

Uncle John wasn't hearing anything of us taking the train back to Manhattan so he drove us into the city, and took us on an evening tour of the city.  He knows a lot!  He was telling us about what used to be here, there, and everywhere.  It was cool.  He also knew where we could get some sweet shots...he's a hobby photographer.  And he took some sweet shots of us!

We got back to our hotel at about 11PM last night.  It was a good day!  Today it's raining so we are going to head to the Wax Museum.  Then we will try to get some discounted tickets for a show tonight.  If we don't get the tickets we'll probably head to the Met.
