The Prank, and...Kids are Funny

My class has started something with the third and fourth graders. :S It started last Friday when Austin comes in my room and says "We should take something from the 3rd and 4th graders!" And of course everyone says "YES!" So I suggest we go take their chairs and hide them. Sierra says "It has to be less obvious!" At lunch I figure it out, we'll take their store! On Friday's they go to the 'store' which is a cabinet that holds stuff that they buy with their fake money that they earn by doing well in class. I send all my kids into the classroom and pretend that they are in BIG trouble and tell Connie (3-4 teacher) that my class will be out later. We run over to her room, take the store, and put it in the boiler room. Then Sierra and I write a little poem about how they can find their store again. Well this didn't go over well on Friday, Connie was a bit upset with me, but quickly recovered on Saturday.

Well yesterday we had a note that said "Beware of your hair, especially you, Sierra. Yes I'm as mad as a hornet." I kept trying to convince the kids in my class that they weren't going to strike for a while because everyone knows that pranks have to be spread out. Then after school today Connie says "I think something might happen in your room this weekend" URGH!

So on to kids are funny...The same 3-4 graders had to make models of the solar system last week and yesterday and today they were on display in the hall. One girl was extremely creative and she had a huge box with a light in the "ceiling" as the sun and then had planets hanging around the sun. Well after recess today Jordan is looking into this box and he says to me "Miss Wright, I see uranus!" I wanted to scold him for speaking to me like that but when I turned around to do so I busted up laughing. Connie was walking by and she looks at me and then at him and says "It's pronounced ur-in-us". That made both Jordan and I laugh even more. I decided I'd talk to him in a few minutes when we both had our wits about us. Being the good student that he is he came up to me and said "Sorry about that comment, I just thought it would be funny but when I turned around to say it you were the only one in the hall." Apology was accepted and life went on!

We don't have school tomorrow or the next day or the next. It's district conference time! YAY!
