Glover Happenings

So here's what's been going on a Casa de Glover:

I had a 31 Gift Party on Saturday.  We looked at a lot of bags.  I can't wait to get my new lunchbox!  It was fun.  I made some guacamole, and then there were cheese, meat, and crackers, a bowl of strawberries & blackberries and finally the best cookies ever.  I made Ryan take the cookies that were left to work today so I wouldn't be tempted...

Ryan's job during the party was to make sure the monster doggie didn't cause any problems.
It's sad being a doggie behind gates...

In other news...I think I might have a problem:  BOOKS!  I heart them very much.  Look at the current stack on my nightstand!!

I like to pick books up from the thrift store.  Sometimes for my classroom, sometimes for me, sometimes because they are pretty.  In the nightstand stack I've read 3 of them, and the one on the bottom...I just finished it and now it's going to be a movie!  Woot!

I also like series.  Only need one more hard cover of the Harry Potter collection.  Apparently The Chamber of Secrets is rare in hard cover.  I am also one behind in the Wimpy Kid books.  I have been told by my students I'm missing the purple one.  This collection is mine & Ryan's hard cover collection.  I was super stoked to find the first one (red) at the thrift store Friday for 99 cents.  I had bought it in paper back and my student's loved it... A LOT.  I'm pickier now about which books get to go to school.  If they are 99 cents it's not a big deal, but when they are $6.99 I get crabby when I see them jammed in desks and backpacks.

When I was putting away my newest thrift store stash I found this...
I had totally forgot I picked it up.  It was a thrift store find too.  I recently wrote a sample research paper on Bethany Hamilton for my class so they could see how to write a paper.  As I researched her I thought "I should borrow her book from the library."  Well, this is my kind of library--my personal one that doesn't charge me late fees.  (Which reminds me, I owe both the Aurora and Denver library $1 or 2 each......)

FINALLY....

<--------This with the the yummy chicken below was my dinner tonight.  Best salad ever!   All thanks to the new purchase we made Sunday...
That's right, we are now the proud owners of a gas grill!  Woot! WOOT!  We had a charcoal grill that I got from someone a million years ago.  It worked great, but you had to know about 4 hours before dinner that you were going to grill.  And, if there are fire bans in town you're technically not supposed to grill on a charcoal grill, the whole open flame thing.  So I asked Ryan if we could PLEASE get one.  He said yes, IF he could research them first.  So he did, and we went to Lowes Sunday and picked it up.  It was too big to fit in his car in the box, so we had to unpack it in the parking lot in order to get it in the car to take it home.  Then we put it together and enjoyed grilled pork chops.  Yum!

That's all for now.  Sorry there's no pics of the Tank-ster.  He wasn't in the mood for posing tonight for me. :-P

Yum! I wish we had a grill, but Ryan and I have agreed that we need a new porch first.
