Home, Camping, 100th Anniversary, Pirate's Cove...Orlando or Bust!

Well, I thought that since I've been back from Nebraska for about two weeks, I'd write a bit about my time there. It was wonderful!!!!! I love that when I go back my parents let me lay around and do nothing! One day my dad told me, as he was leaving, "be careful you don't get lost in the couch!" I laughed at this but then was thankful that he wasn't demanding me to go do something with him, or for him.

I went back for my grandparents 50th Anniversary. 50 years! Can you believe it? Before leaving, I got my hair cut and told my stylist where I was going. He said "And they still like each other?" That they do. The anniversary was hot, but a good time. My great- Aunt and Uncle from New Jersey came into town to surprise my grama, and surprise they did. They walked into our family meal and grama screamed and got out of her chair. No one quite knew what had happened until we turned around. It was nice to see them! The first part of the week then seemed to fly as we went out with them once and then had a BBQ and Aunt Donna's. It was fun. Here are some pictures of me and the cousins (and brother) at the Anniversary.

Last week I took the 10 youth camping with two other adult leaders. It was a fabulous time! We got rained on everyday and our second full day we got dumped on. We hadn't really planned for rain, so we drove the kids into town...the long way. :) It worked out very nicely. When we got back to camp though, we had to figure out how to feed the children, since it was still raining starting a fire didn't seem like an option. But being the fabulous youth leaders that we are, we made it an option...check out how I cooked pita pizzas for the youth!

This past weekend was the 100th anniversary at Emmaus. This has been quite the ordeal for the past year, and even more so in the past four weeks leading up to the event. Many people logged many hours doing things that should not have been neglected for 100 years (i.e. changing light bulbs in the sanctuary). But when Saturday came, everything was nice and organzied and there were people everywhere! Sunday's worship service was fantastic. Pastor Golter, President of the Rocky Mountain District preached, we sang songs that were traditional and well known. The Lutheran Chorale sang. If only even half of those people would return to Emmaus every week...

Yesteray I spent the day at Pirate's Cove with Mona, the children, and Matt. I love water parks. Forget dangerous rollercoasters (yes, Hannah, they are dangerous!), just give me a lazy river, maybe a wave pool, and a few water slides, and I'm set for the day. Having the children did hinder the riding of huge water slides, but I did get one ride in. I'm not sure that this water park is the most adult water park, but it was fun none-the-less. I still need to get to Water World...maybe next summer? :) Here's a picture of the baby Book, Dillon, and I at the Cove.
Well tomorrow I head to Orlando for a looooooooooong time. I'm going down for the National Youth Gathering as a Young Adult Volunteer. Chrissy is going with me. After the gathering, Rosie is flying down and we're going to spend a few days being LAZY. Currently our plans involve alot of beach time! I'm taking my computer, so will probably be updating the blog while down there with pictures.
