I talked to my mom tonight who read my blog because I told her that I posted pictures of my house on it. It seems I need to clarify that though my parents do live in rural Nebraska it isn't quite the caveman woods I made it out to be. Though as I type this, because I think it will make my mom happy, I laugh because she told me great story that furthers my argument, here it is.....
It seems that my brother has formed a "group", which he calls the "Blades of Meadow Grove". You're probably thinking, "I've heard of 'Blades of Glory' but what is this 'Blades of Meadow Grove'?" Don't worry, it has nothing to do with ice skating and tight clothing. Rather it is a lawn mowing brigade. It seems Adam (my brother), Craig (who graduated from high school with me), and Steave (a local 28 year old) all got on their riding lawnmowers on Sunday and randomly mowed peoples yards. Mom said they were done with our yard in about 10 minutes. They also mowed our shop yard rather quickly. This cracks me up for many reasons, but the obvious being the aforementioned "hicksville". The best part of the story is that Craig and Steve rode their mowers into town on the cowboy trail. I assure you that seeing a brigade of lawnmowing boys doesn't occur often, if ever, in Denver. My brother called me tonight to ask about my car, and informed me that the "Blades of Meadow Grove" will probably show up on Sundays. The good news...mom and dad don't have to mow!
On to other topics.
I went to Boulder yesterday. Everyone should go there! But they should definately take someone with them to enjoy the differences that it has to offer. I went to write a scavenger hunt for the annual 5-8th grade scavenger hunt. While there I saw a pirate in Starbucks and a fairy mopping the street. (When telling my staff about the fairy they asked for clarification so I will give it to you too...fairy: one with wings and a tutu.) There were some shops that I would love to go spend a bit of time looking in, and a few mountains I would love to climb (or attempt to).
Today in school I learned that telling children three weeks before school gets out that they will have at least 4 more tests does not make them happy, nor does it ensure that I'm going to get teacher of the year. :-P I love my job!!!!!
I wish I had other cool stories to share this evening but I don't. Until next time....
.............. (I was going to insert a cool Carrie question, but they all escape me right now)

The "Blades of Meadow Grove"
Mowing Brigade should start working on their zero-turning radius salute.
