We stayed in Amarillo on Saturday night and Sunday continued to OKC. We stopped at the largest cross in the Western Hemisphere (and the United States...I had to clarify this for Liz). Around the foot of the cross were stations of the cross--statues of the hours the lead up to the death of Jesus. There was also an empty tomb. It was very cool!
OKC and VBS was great! On Monday there were supposed to be 240 children at VBS!!! Only 200 showed up but that was still AMAZING to me! Katie and I were crew leaders for the 1st Grade Electrons. They were SO cute (for the most part) and I wanted to take them home (well only a few of them.)
Aren't they cute? My favorite two were the two in the yellow shirts on the left of the group picture. Hannah and Kyle. Such cuties!
In other news, right before I went to OKC I worked a wedding with Colleen. What I have kept to myself until now is that I met a groomsmen (the best man to be exact) at this wedding. Colleen gave him my number, and he called me that same day. We talked on the phone throughout the week while I was in OKC and on Friday we went out on a little date. We ate dinner at a pretty nice restraunt (nicer than my jean capris and "dressy" t-shirt). It was an enjoyable time. He's a computer programmer for a security company. Apparently he had an enjoyable time as well since he called on Saturday and we made tentative plans for today. Our plans for today did not work out because I had to work a wedding that went way later than I thought it would. So we're getting together tomorrow (and maybe Tuesday for the Rockies game.) It seems like being together alot for just meeting--here's the catch...He's moving to the Philippines in three weeks because he got a job promotion and has to go train people over there for 6 months to a year. (His name is Isaac.) That's my excitement for now.
