It's Friday and we are supposed to be at Field Day but due to the weather it was postponed until next Friday. This actually worked out well for us as teachers because we got the day off anyway and don't have any worries about lightening striking children carrring metal batons for the relay.
So the house search continues. I've begun the loan application process. I think I did this whole thing backwards because I have picked one out that I would love to get but am unsure if I qualify for it in terms of finances so now I'm waiting and seeing. Oh how I love that! It reminds me of waiting for my first call!
Our church and school have been struggling for some time now and we are in desperate need of leadership. We did not have a principal this year, our pastor is leaving in June and our 7-8th grade teacher is not returning either. As I look at all that is going on I wish that I could snap my fingers and make it all work out! As it is though, I can't. We are also beginning a Strategic Ministry Planning period in which we evaluate the needs of the congregation, the school, and the community. It's our hope that assessing such things can lead to development and increased attendance and more stabilitiy. It is during this time that I am finding that I need to let God be more active in what I do and say. I, as well as the church, need His help to make His message known. As we begin SMP I think it's time for me to also begin my own time of prayer and preperation and make myself be more diliberate about it in my life.
