Outdoor Education

Thursday morning I left with 12 students to go to LVR for two days, one night of Outdoor Education. It was quite an experience! We left late do to waiting for a student and the need to put gas in the van...THEN we sat in traffic in Denver and if that wasn't enough, we sat in some traffic in the Springs. Once we got there we enjoyed ourselves.

It was very interesting to take the city out of my students. Many of them (mainly the boys) were not sure how to function in the great outdoors. We had to leave the cabins to use the restroom and it gets cold in the mountains! They did manage to survive and enjoy themselves. I had to laugh Friday morning, I woke up the girls, told them I was going to shower and then left. I arrived to the bathroom and could hear the boys in their bathroom talking about fixing their hair! All the boys showered...none of the girls did.

While at LVR I repelled! That basically means I jumped off a big rock...backwards! I was so scared when I got to the top to get harnessed up I was shaking! I am still not sure why I did it, but it was totally worth it! I don't know that I would stand in line to do it again, but I am glad I did it!

Tonight I went to a worship service led by John Tesh. It was awesome! It was actually more of a sing along. There wasn't any fantastic message (in fact, I don't think there was a message) but the singing praises together with about 1500 others was cool!

Last thought of the post...there is no last thought, I'm beat...time for bed!
