I did it...and I loved it!

I finally decided to figure out what this Twilight phenomenon was all about. Colleen had given me a copy of Twilight WAY before it became popular (like last May I think). I started reading it and got to about chapter 8 but I couldn't get past that. I was also reading the Gossip Girl series at the time and dreaming of living in New York so Gossip Girl was winning. I was reading those faster than I could locate them from the library. Anyway, my girls are constantly talking about Edward and Jacob and I'm pretty sick of it, so I decided that I needed to see what all the excitement over these two was all about. Well I read the first one and loved it. Though I'm quite sure that if I were casting for Edward I would have chose someone better looking. The Edward I created in my mind was WAY better looking than the guy who plays him in the movie. I mean, if Bella is so fixated on him he better be the best combination of Ben Afflic, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Chad Micheal Murry, etc. :) Any way the point is the book was good, I'm reading the second in the series and I should have read it earlier. :)

I did the same thing! I was also ashamed at first to read it, but ended up loving it. And I agree-the guy they cast in the movie does not fit the Edward in my head!

My girls just saw the movie last weekend and that "Edward" was the topic of conversation pre-Sunday school this week. He is nothing near what any of us had imagined... and to quote one of my BOYS said: "Have you seen the scene where they sparkle?! It's hilarious!"

Good books though. Not obsessive quality good but still good.

Yeah, yeah, you should always listen to Colleen, she's great at giving advice......I loved the Edward they cast..he's very pretty. I agree that the special effects were pretty bad, but overall I thought the movie was SO romantic...I loved the scene at the end and the song when they are dancing. It just made me swoon:)
